Some more family medicine inputs

I am doing good here at Oddanchatram (ODC) as dermatology elective. As you might be knowing that Dr. Chering Tenzing from Satbarwa is with us now and is looking after family purchase cialis course here. She is DNB general cialis from Oddanchatram. And have made arrangements for my derm elective training at ODC (earlier Drs. Rajat and Ango had come here for the same), the place I am replying right now from.

I would also like to add some points I liked Family Medicine training at ODC: Here, the course is split into 6 month sections.

6 months: Medicine

6 months: Surgery and Ortho (4.5 + 1.5)

6 months: OG

6 months: Pediatrics

6 months: PHC posting (residential at Prem Jyoti, Barharwa, Jharkhand or at CFH comm health center at KCpatti, run by Drs. Rajkumar and his wife!

6 months: various one month postings including derm, ophthal, USG, lab, ENT, Anesthesia etc

I find this very reassuring as the person gets well trained in OG and primary care surgeries which is right now little neglected at HCH with only two months posting. Second, our community postings I feel are dummy with only 4-6 hours engagement and that two for 2 days a week (as the Badshahibag clinic does not require anyone to stay there)! Here, I request you to help restructure the training program, if you also think the same and may talk to the people at HCH.

After Anup left, we did not get any 'casualty medical officer'. And the same person continues for 24 hours. SO, it started little hard for all of us but we got used to it! In the year 2 residents joined in fam med with none in Rural Surgery, as there was no accreditation (two may join in Jan 2011).

So basically after Nitin left, there were only three of us to do the first calls. As the final years' were not being asked for the same except when one of the 'juniors' are on leave. In a nut shell, it is little tough now, but this has been training me well.

With an average of approximately only 270 patients/day (compare with ODC having ~1500/day) it sometimes feel like having too many doctors at HCH for such a small job!

Second, the posting for the later half of 2009 and 2010 were not well planned as we used to have earlier, may be because of lack of a dedicated FM person! Hope this improves! For the same reason, my planned first year 2 months OG posting is yet to be completed!
